Family chronicle

In 1877, he and his wife Karoline, née Seiter, built a house on this Kirchmatt site. Soon (from 1885 - 1920, the brewery was registered in the German brewery register), the trained cooper and brewer began brewing beer himself and remodelled his home into the ‘Gasthaus zur Linde’ (Linde Inn)

In 1897, his son Otto Streule and his wife Sofi, née Kinz, took over the pub and the brewery business.

In 1907, they extended the pub with an extension. Until the start of the war

1914 beer was brewed. The confiscation of the copper brewing kettle by the Wehrmacht put an end to the brewery.

In 1918, the brewing quota was sold to the Hatz company in Rastatt. We still obtain our fine beer from this private brewery today.

In 1937, daughter Paula Röck, née Streule, and her husband Ludwig Röck took over the pub. Due to the effects of the war, more and more agriculture, mainly fruit, wine and arable farming, was carried out alongside the pub and the schnapps distillery was set up as a sideline. After the end of the war, the pub was occupied until

1948 by occupying troops. The family was allowed to continue living in the house and helped to cater for the occupying forces. It was only after the currency reform that the pub experienced a revival.

In 1964, after the farm had been gradually dismantled, the farm building was demolished and the pub renovated,

In 1965, son Otto Röck and his wife Gerda, née Müller, took over the family business

In 1972, another extension was added to the house and a bowling alley was built

In 1979, the upper floor of the building was equipped with modern guest rooms.

1991 The roof truss was renovated and an additional flat and guest rooms were added

In 1993, Christian Röck and his wife Sabine Röck, née Wamsler, took over the management of the hotel after having worked there for five years.

1993-1998 Various renovations of the guest rooms and the bowling alley were carried out in smaller stages each year.

1999 Completely new extension of the restaurant with wood, as well as renovation of the kitchen, which gave our restaurant and adjoining room its current cosy and homely appearance.
